Member Award Programs

Trinity Chapter promotes use of our Knights of Columbus award programs, to solidify new members in their new roles, and encourage current members to strengthen our organization.

SHINING ARMOR AWARD


In order to get new members of the order active and involved, the Knights of Columbus have set up an awards program, known as the “Shining Armor Award”.  This award is given to those new members that exemplify what a true Knight of Columbus is.  To receive this award the member must do the following during their first year of membership:


  • Be involved in a minimum of three council service programs.
  • Attend at least three council business meetings
  • Take their Second and Third Degree Exemplifications
  • Meet with the K of C council insurance agent
  • Recruit a minimum of one new member

Silver Knight Award
 

In order to get current members of the order active and involved, the Knights of Columbus have set up an awards program, known as the “Silver Knight Award”.  This award is given to those members that exemplify what a true Knight of Columbus is.  To receive this award the member must do the following during the fraternal year:

  • Be involved in a minimum of three council service programs.
  • Attend at least three council business meetings.
  • Recruit 2 new members in the fraternal year.

Council Award Programs

Trinity Chapter promotes use of our Knights of Columbus award programs for Councils, to motivate members in striving for excellence in their Council's performance.

  • Star Council - The Star Council Award is the Order's top honor.  The Star Council Award recognizes excellence in volunteer fraternal and charitable activities, membership recruitment and insurance promotion.  To qualify as a Star Council, a Council must meet the requirements of the Columbian Award, Father McGivney Award and Founder's Award.

  • Columbian Award - The Columbian Award is presented for excellence in volunteer fraternal and charitable activities.  To qualify, a Council must conduct at least 20 different volunteer charitable and fraternal programs — four each in the five categories of Church, Community, Council, Family and Youth activities.

  • Father McGivney Award - the Father McGivney Award is presented to Councils that meet their membership quota as set by the Supreme Council office.

  • Founders' Award - the Founders' Award is presented to Councils that meet their insurance member quota as set by the Supreme Council office.

Other Programs

Trinity Chapter also promotes use of our Knights of Columbus youth programs, to involve and reward our youth for involvement in their church and community.
