Knights of Columbus

Trinity Chapter

The Trinity Chapter of Knights of Columbus was founded in 1957 by a group of dedicated brother Knights under the leadership of Joseph T. Wyatt, PGK, PFN, FDD.  It is indeed a matter of joy and pride to report that we are in our 50th year.  At present we have a total of 42 subordinate Councils located in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

The purpose of our existence is to preserve and promote the spirit of Columbianism, i.e.  Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.  Among and through the participating Councils, we want to learn and grow together by strengthening the closeness of our feelings for each other and for the communities around us.

Over the years, Trinity Chapter has made substantial contributions to the furtherance of many worthwhile causes.  Our main principal charity in past years, before their departure to Connecticut, was the support we provided to the Sisters of Jesus Crucified at Regina Mundi Priory in Devon, Pa.

Trinity Chapter conducts Charity Drives both at the Council and personal levels.  Our Treasurer, Michael Twigg, chairs the Council charity drive this year.  At this writing, the drive is under way with Councils contributing various sums to the program.  We will continue this project until the end of the fraternal year.

Our Personal Charity Appeal within the Chapter for the past year has been fundraisers for our Charity projects.  This past year, we gave approximately $5,000.00 in donations to Mothers' Home in Darby, St. John’s Hospice in Philadelphia, Little Flower Manor in Darby, Saint John Vianney Center in Downingtown, Santa Maria Spanish Mission in Kennett Square and others.  We gave gifts at Christmas time and also at Easter.

Four of our noteworthy accomplishments have been the planning, organization and housing of four Annual Pennsylvania State Conventions in 1982, 1990, 1999 and 2004. Most of the proceeds from the Conventions have been placed into our Charity Fund; additionally some of our Officers have represented the Chapter in various capacities of Pennsylvania State Councils as State Officers and its many committee Chairmen.

We are thankful to God to be of service to humankind.

Vivat Jesus.
